As an American, who now lives in the UK and camps, I'd like to point out that these huge tents that are available here, do take a lot of guying out!.
Our first and 2nd tents, we shipped from the USA over here, when the US Postal service still did surface mail!
our Wenzel Lodge Pole goes up with 9 pegs and no guys, and a few steel poles, while our coleman Sundome only has four guys on the rain fly and four pegs on the corners, and some simple fiberglass poles...
from my experience of camping in Arkansas and Idaho, not sure that the fiberglass poles would hold up to a summer rain storm. the wind and rain are stronger than here, in my experience. Even though my Coleman is American, I wouldn't want to spend a Idaho summer storm in it!
but our huge royal havanna 6,which is British has lots of pegs, and guys and heavy steel poles. we only use it when camping for two whole weeks. but the poles weigh a lot. the whole tent poles and all weighs about 70 pounds.
but as someone else said, it is because of the weather...when camping we are just as likely to be in the tent as outside of it due to the weather. We bought a coleman canopy and attach/put it over the tent Wenzel or Coleman, to give us day space and protect us from the rain here, or occasionally the sun.
------------- the bigger the berry, sweeter the juice.
Well I found my Dream tent, I have sent emails to two different Companys to see what the exact price would be with shipping. I asked if either one would cut me a break on shhipping. We will see. I cant afford the carpet, but this will get me started. Please let me know any comments or experience you may have with this tent. Not to BIG and Not two small- :) Thanks for all yur help so far- It lead me to this model and Brand -
smockb have you considered coming to the UK to experience camping in the UK? You could then use the trip/holiday to buy yourself the tent of your choice. With a bit of planning the cost of the air fare could be less than the cost of shipping a tent from the UK to the US.

Well, You were rite! I hate to say it bu the canopy and extension is probably not in my near future. This tent will be on the borderline for size as it is in the US. Most all campgrounds have pads dedicated for tent camping and they are not very big like the wide open spaces i have seen in your pictures.
Well I Did It! My Montana 6 is on the Way. My only concern is what Customs is going to charge, I wont know till i get it. I ordered it from Camping World.co.uk they were recommended by Outwell. Only option I added was the carpet. That is the most interesting item i have seen for camping in along time. You guys have it made, there is nothing even close to tent carpet in the US. Unless you include indoor / outdoor carpeting or tarps (that is what people use under there Canopies Allot in the US.) Thank you all for the recommendations. In the US, I have always found the people at campgrounds to be very helpful and kind.I am glad to see it is the same way across the pond!I would like to throw out if I can ever be of any help please don’t hesitate to ask.I would have to say you people are Light years a head in the tent camping world.Several other items that we seem to Lack are the small utility shelters for cooking, etc.also I see in your pictures you have stands for everything including the fridge! We have nothing like that here.I have a big Trip planned in June, I will be sure to post picture of our camp, but it will be pretty primitive compared to yours.JTake care and God Bless-
