Bridge House campsite at Lechlade on Thames, Zeelees. Lovely little site one field away from the river and 10 minutes walk from the town.
We had a lightning show on Friday night everyone on the campsite including us sat outside and watched it with their kids doing the firework oohh ahhhs, was great
it rained in the midlands for the last 2 nights - first time in weeks and weeks! Sad that I am, I slept with all the windows open and tried to imagine I was in a tent....I love listening to the rain at night - takes me back to camping holidays as a child.
Apparently you're supposed to retreat to the car during an electrical storm, as the car acts as a faraday cage to protect you. However, we've experienced two storms while camping, and both times we stayed in the tent, I brewed coffee, opened the curtains & we both sat and enjoyed the free show.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
