On a similar topic - has anyone got a good way of stopping the guy ropes getting tangled in storage? I tried winding them up and tying them round themselves, but they just came undone again.
Practise and if there long enough fold coil at foot lengths then when you carnt fold any more tie the whole thing in a big loose knot
I hope that makes sence
Rob
I do that with some of my guys too Rob. My main method tho is to hank the rope. I take the end closest to the tent between my thumb and forefinger then , spreading my fingers out, start wrapping the rope round my thumb and pinkie in a figure of eight fashion ( I suppose in a similar way to wrapping up electric cord on a hoover). I leave about a foot dangling and then start wrapping that round the rope after having gently removed it from my fingers as if I was wrapping turns on a climbing rope. when I get to the end I gently pull on the tent end to check which loop starts to close then with the tail end, pass a loop through that loop and pull tight. Sounds really complicated but in reality it takes a few seconds!

Very helpful - thanks. I'll have to have a practice at that.
