I have a Orchy 400. As said above, peg the back corners before lifting the cross poles especially if windy.
I bought some spare Vango poles just in case of breakage.
I have not yet had a problem but have now gone over to canvas tents as found them more stable in the wind.
Will proberly give the Orchy another outing sometime.

Aww, poor you, that's rubbish. Shingles not nice. Good luck looking for a smaller tent, hope you get something you can manage on your own.
Solway was Fab, its a great site, I'm sure you'll love it and we hope to get back. I'm thoroughly disappointed to say that we didn't last the full 5 nights as planned, we came home after 3 as hubby and I hadn't slept for two nights cos of the wind. The tent was perfectly safe but it was the noise of the fabric going non stop. Weather was pretty wet, which doesn't bother me but lack of sleep just made me crabbit. Site is perfect tho, owners are very friendly, toilets clean, pitches huge, each with picnic bench and firepit!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
