Isn't Glamping all about prettying up your environment? I use throws that match my tent along with pretty fairy lights and bunting, I also have citronella candles in lovely pots. My dinner plates and pans also match. do I not qualify because I prefer my Monty 6?
It is and your set up sounds lovely. I personally don't think 'glamping' is a word I would use on poly tents. And I don't mean that in a rude way or anything. I just don't think poly tents look 'glampy' no matter how nice the rugs are etc.
As I said in my last post, if someone wanted to go on a 'glamping holiday' (and many people do) the tents that would be hired out to them fully kitted out would be canvas ones.
To some, I am considered as glamping because I have EHU and take a fan heater on my trips, and I have carpet in the living area.
However, I would like to believe my gears are all functional except for the solar fairy lights, bunting, flag pole, wind sock and flag, which are purely for decorative purposes only.

glamping to me is EHU, carpets, comfy inflatable chairs & TV...I'm not down with this you must have canvas & matching cushions..fine if you have the room to transport a load of superflous tat, but surely the aim of the game is to make camping as comfy & as homely as possible?
Who is to say matching soft furnishing, drapes, candles etc., are unnecessary tat?
It may not be everyone's cup of tea, however, it could be what that person is used to in his/her own home, so he/she is creating a bit of home comfort for him/herself while camping!

Glamping to me is the height of luxury. Only one persons set up has come near my definition. If you relocated that set up, in an exoctic country, could be on a beach or safari in Africa.
Really it's something in my opinion which cannot be defined, already proven on here. As some examples are; someones idea is anothers idea of basic camping.

Doesn't glamping = glamourous camping? Camping is camping irrelevant of what material your tent is made of.
I like the comments about the cusions, we bought union jack cushions for jubilee week and it's become addictive now, saw some lovely ones in Aldi while we were away last week, just had to buy them lol.
I don't think of myself as a "Glamper" as my outfit is not particulalrly glamerous and nor am I!!
I like to think of myself as a "Comfy Camper" I like to take things like EHU, tent carpet, bunting, fairy lights and flagpole which I feel help turn a tent into my temporary home.

According to the Oxford English...

Definition of glamping
noun

glamping is likely to satisfy any city slicker seeking a little refuge in nature—without foregoing any of life’s luxuries
Origin: blend of glamorous and camping
I don't think it matters what you camp beneath... I am a Glamper and proud of it! ;-)
I started off in my youth wild camping, progressed onto sleeping in ditches and other unmentionable places while in the Forces. Now we've got ourselves a smallish canvas frame tent and I'm not as young as I was I'm starting to like my luxuries and the wife has started to glamp it already!

I happily admit to glamping, carpet, EHU, kettle, fridge and airbeds. Makes it much more palatable in bad weather, as I can keep my child entertained with a dvd! Got fed up of throwing food away in hot weather, mini fridge was best investment I have made for my tent
