Yep true. I don't really mind the jokes- at least it's something a little different. Not quite as insane as ads for Trago Mills (Homewares) in our local paper.
I also use CCC Outdoors & Field and Trek a fair bit and I find Outdoors Magic very handy for reviews etc.
I placed an order with them on Tuesday and because I needed the item for the weekend, double checked that delivery would be made before Saturday. They told me the item was in stock and to expect delivery yesterday (Thursday) between 9.00 and 5.30. I stayed in all day and nothing arrived - I'm still waiting for a reply to my e-mail about when it will arrive.
I ordered a Khyam XL tent tidy and emailed them prior to ordering and was told they had them in stock....a few days later after my card had been debited I got an email telling me they were out of stock!.....took just under 3 weeks to get my order!. Not a huge problem but why tell me they are in stock when they ain't!...not sure I would use them in future.
These guys actually have a store in Bootle called Outdoor World, of which myself and partner visited a couple of months ago as we decided to upgrade our tent. We had found the tent we wanted locally, but after looking on the internet found that Outdoor Megastore where selling cheaper, so decided to pay the retail store a visit. They couldn't find the tent in stock so we said we would have a drive to their sister company then give these guys a call later in the day to see if they've found the tent. We arrived at the said sister company and found that Outdoor World had infact rung this other shop to let them know they'd found the tent and would put it to one side for us to pick up. Okay, so they couldn't find the tent originally but we were greatly impressed with the initiative of the salesman ringing ahead!!!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
