I'll secure them to a tree or similar, if I really need to take them off, but mostly, when we get back from a ride, they'll go straight back on the carrier...

ah1975 - I read your post about your bike theft with sadness. What a horrible thing to happen on your well-earned holiday. Thank you for sharing the info on the insurance, something anyone with a recent/decent bike should be aware of. I'm certainly considering insuring ours separately now, despite our precautions outlined above.

Mucker - that's a hell of lock but prevention and a visible deterrent is probably worth the outlay.
