I had decided to go camping Wednesday and Thursday but the campsite I wanted to go to can't take tents yet because the field is too wet. I have spent nearly all day trying to find something else suitable and failing miserably. I finally decided on a C&CC Camping in the Forest site near Marlborough who take non-members but their website says they don't have toilets in the winter. I phoned C&CC and they don't know if the toilets are up and running yet so gave me the campsite number which is on permanent answerphone...I give up!

IT'S NOT WINTER NOW!

Have you tried the enquiry form, Bob?

It's ok thanks...panic over. Postern Hill Camping in the Forest phoned me back and I have booked. Reasonable price too with solo concession and mid-week concession £28.75 for two nights with EHU...and a toilet.

They wouldn't do age concession as well

I think my problem is that I seem to have been everywhere within a reasonable distance from my home and now finding it difficult to find somewhere new and interesting. Most of the time it's not particularly the campsites but the location. All sorted for now though thanks.

They tend to cater more for Tin Tents !! hence no showers. Which is a shame as it's a nice area for camping.

Well, a bowl of hot soapy water and a flannel in the tent will do the job but perhaps not a place you would want to spend a fortnight...unless you have a bathtub groundsheet

Fingers crossed for fri, sat and sun in Somerset as I'm booked and paid for. First time camping alone...scary! OH full on rugby weekend and so I stuck my chin out and said I'd go on my own. Thinking it might be a mistake lol but can't get away for another two weeks after that and I'm desperate for a fix :) just taking one dog and minimal kit. Will be an experience methinks...

Ferretlady, we've not bred a litter if kits for years but ours are all getting on so bitten the bullet and bred my best Jill. Really hoping she's taken. How many have you got?
Hi Whippetlover, hope your jill has some lovely kits! I have 5. All are polecat colouring. I have 3 jills, they are all sisters, and 2 hobs. We had them all neutered. Sometimes I think would of been nice to breed them.
They are so scrummy, with loads of cuddles. Make lovely pets!

TCx

Really hope the weatherman was right. Unfortunately I'm on duty all weekend! the joys of being in the care industry! My next break is not until the first week in June.
I will think of you all enjoying the sunshine though!

We're off to North Devon for a week in July. Not used the big tent for 2 years, so we're off Blackpool way at the weekend for a test run.

We're off to the big camp this weekend, finally finished making birthday party arrangements for the following Saturday so can now focus on our tent decorations (for the dress your tent competition).
