When i went to North Wales at the end of April/early May i bought thermal socks, thermal leggins and thermal top with the intention of wearing them under my pj's, plus a hot water bottle to warm up my sleeping bag before i got in it. I didn't actually need any of them at night just the pj's and a decent sleeping bag. The thermal leggins did however come in useful when i climbed up Snowdon, it's blooming cold at the top and a pair of gloves would have been a useful buy.
