My Border, responded well to training, she was a rescue, didn't even know the sit command, only habit I can't get her out of is attacking feathered things, she even went for a goose on the canal at Hebden Bridge last week and she was on a lead!

Love having a BT.

Dk glad it went well, they are headstrong little buggers!
Floppy Poppy, yeah i have 2 dogs already. Ive always had dogs ever since a child. You said Jan Fennells training is outdated, but reading it, it does make sense. Will have to have a look at the one you mentioned, thanks!

I wonder if that's a bitch thing? Lola Loudmouth is mad for ducks and poultry, but my other Lakeland, a dog, was never that fussed (although he did think that ducks belonged in water, and would chase them back into it if they ever had the audacity to venture onto dry land).

We took him to training classes when he was a puppy. The trainer would frequently say "But Django won't do this, he's a terrier".

I seriously thought about asking for my money back. He was pretty good by terrier standards, but Lola was much easier to train.

DK how old is Borda? My BT (Scruff) came to me at a year old - I was his third home!

Nine in December and he is slowing down a bit but such a character and terribly naughty at times.

I have had skin problems with him for quite a few years but no treatments or diet changes seem to work and I'm coming to terms with a dog with occasional bald patches. He is such a stoic little dog though - I have had him on his side this afternoon treating a mucky ear (all part of the same problem I suspect)and he stays quiet throughout and then gets up, has a good shake and then gets all his toys out.
fran 1000 no it isn't a bitch thing - my fellah is up for chasing anything including the feathered variety but his favourite hobby when occasionally let off the lead on the beach is joining up with other dogs and pinching their tennis balls! At least he then return to me with his new trophy!

My late partner had Borda as a pup, and I kept him as my own when he was about 17 months' old.

He spent his first night away from his mum and litter-mates at mine, and was a frequent visitor along with his master.

He knew me and the cat since he was a pup.
