We have Kampa Dream XLs for me and wife which are nice and wide but very large so have to make sure you really have the room. The kids have Halfords Dream/Posados style knock-offs which seem just fine but are standard size.
On top we have SIMS of varying thickness.
It's OK for comfort but I still think our queen sized Aerobed is more comfy. I find you need something between your body and the SIM, more than just a sheet, or it's a bit sweaty

Kampa together double campbed with 2 single Outwell deepsleep 7.5cm SIMs for us. Topped with fleece fitted sheet and fleece covered duvet is just perfect. Though it's worth noting we mostly camp in Scotland. I have a separate fleece throw for when it gets extra cold and for those off season trips fleece liners.
We "squish" this lot into an Ortlieb bags for dryness and compression.
It's uber comfy and no bed bar problems or the like! Great for cuddles hehe
