I am 67 and have only a couple of days ago bought a car, the sole purpose of this is so I can go camping again after at 10 years.
It was only 4 years ago I joined the YHA so that I could have reasonably priced holidays. I even went to Nashville USA and stayed in hostels on my own two times.

Haha I am 63 and contemplating buying a very expensive tent designed to last 15 years or more. But I suppose I can live in hope that my (yet to be born ) grandchildren could inherit it.
I camp with friends, family, and on my own when I fancy an adventure. Prefer basic in style, cook over a campfire, no EHU, so am always hefting logs about.
I sleep on a SIM on the ground but do catch myself going ‘oof’ when I get up sometimes.
And I am far fussier about liking nice food and decent wine with my camping.
Never too old! I'm 66 and still backpacking. I don't walk as far or as fast as l once did, but who cares? Go for it, once you start thinking you're too old, you'll start to believe it.
My Missus and I are 59 and have returned to camping after 20 years. We have been going the last 2 years (Last year restrictions permitting).
As my wife has mobility problems, I purchased a decent bedding system and flush toilet, to make it a bit more comfortable for her.
We have a good roster of Campsites going, and a lot of them are still there from when we went camping before. You can't beat it!
