Hi, maybe some of the really big tents are not hard to pitch as in rocket science, (or getting kids to put their clothes away!), but they must be time consuming? I think everyone wants to get into the holiday part of things as quickly as possible, whilst remaining comfortable and I suppose there has to be a trade off somewhere. It took us ages this weekend, (just me and the kids) compared to normal, and after the drive as well (I don't generally drive a long way) it was hard work. I did begin to question my choice of tent.
My bro and his g/f bought a huge tent (typical of them), he told me it took them 3 hours to get it up!!!! Even tho I've showed them loads of times how to do the tensions they had the lines full out and wondered why people kept falling over their tent!
------------- the differnce between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits
Pitching a tent isn't rocket science, but it aint a race either.
So many people seem to want to boast about how quickly they can pitch their tent. Chill out guys you are on holiday! It's better to take your time and make sure it's done right.
