We've got a cotton canvas frame tent (see photo gallery) and its real cosy, weight and packed size doesnt bother us.

We had our 1st trip out in it recently and we had a good downpour one night and the rain hitting the nylon tent next to us was louder than the rain on ours, and we were in it.

Our neighbours have an Aztec Somethingorother synthetic thing and its like being inside a big blue polythene shopping bag (I know how the shopping feels now) and it was like an oven in the summer. The OH suffers from claustrophobia and had a bit of a panic attack in it but not when in our canvas frame jobby.

We have a  Coleman Sahara - which has the best of both worlds - a frame tent and synthetic outer!   We can also STAND UP in the bedroom.  A bonus when you are OAPs like us
