We have the XXL and love it. As yet we have had no problem with pitches though we always ring and tell them the size before booking. I have been told size can be a problem but have not found it so.

pete, im actually wondering about getting pitches with the canopy fitted.
all you can do is ring and ask, I seem to remember that there was a hartford xxl thread on hear and I asked about campsites and was told never to much bother.
We have 2005 Hartford XXL and 2006 Hartford L, although I love the L the 2005 version is much better.
We used the canopy nearly every time we went away last year and only once did we have a problem with getting it on the pitch; luckily enough the site in question let us choose another one that could accomodate us.

thats good to know,we would love the canopy, but dont want to get one if it severely limits our choice of sites.
