I worked out the rough size of the Norfolk Lake as 251 litres for both bags based on the measurements given on the Outwell website. (This is about half a mondeo / vectra boot). The bags looked really big (especially long) in Go Outdoors and weighed a ton (well about 9 stones, but still v. heavy).
Having said that - most of the other similar sized tents also take up similar volume. It seems to me the wheeled bags are shorter, but slightly fatter, and poles for the Nebraska / Vermont XL also take up nearly as much space. I think the main difference between the Classic range and the normal poly tents when packed is the down to the size/weight of the groundsheet.
Re the Outdoor megastore offer - it definitely ended last Sunday, before starting again this weekend, so I'm guessing it will end tonight, at least for a while!.
I wonder if it is an offer to challenge the NEC discounts being offered?
i would check with gooutdoors at wakefield before you go as i am not sure if they have their outdoor exhibition up yet, it doesnt normally go up until easter.
I have to say that's what I presumed - when at the NEC yesterday I was looking at the tents without any real intention of buying from Yeomans as I knew the offer from outdoor megastore would give us time to reflect on what we had seen.
(Last week though was a different situation as I nearly ordered a Vermont XL late on Sunday night as the 10% discount seemed so good and I thought we were just about to miss out on the offer - glad I waited!)
sweenysteve, they have had them up for a month or so now, as we saw the Norfolk Lake up then. But we didn't think about the size of the packs until we started researching on this excellent site.
We used to use mitchells quite alot but since it became part of gooutdoors as they used to have a good selection of frame tents but they do not stock any now and same with trailer tents.
When it was mitchells it used to be easter when the outdoor exhibition went up.
we took advantage of the outdoormegastore offer on sunday, transaction completed around 6pm sunday evening, tent on doorstep 1.30pm tuesday lunch.....now thats what i call service plus saved 10% in the bargain so now got my BRAND NEW OUTWELL VERMONT L (oh sorry was that a bit loud!!) just waiting to trot off for easter up at silloth.
Brainherz - Did Outdoor megastore contact you re the Norfolk Lake being out of stock? They've not contacted me to let me know it's not available - although I have received some of the other bits and pieces I ordered at the same time.
Hi Tim& Julia - Yes they have kept me well informed. 2 emails since Sunday. The latest saying that they won't get a Norfolk Lake from Outwell now until mid April.
Their website also says mid April - although it didn't say that on Sunday morning.
When did you order yours?

I ordered mine Sunday evening around 9pm - received confirmation email, so email address I gave was clearly right - when the rest of the order was delivered today the courier phoned me - so they got the right tel no. too.
I'll give them a call in the morning. I hope it does arrive by mid of April - going away Mayday BH and want to have a couple of practice pitches in the garden before we go as I don't fancy arriving at site at 7pm and trying to pitch for the first time!
I got mine from Casey's camping, they have got their stock of outwells in now. Mine was my replacement for last year, so not sure how many they ordered. They are a great company and when there was faults with mine it was replaced without question. I can highly recommend them. Their details on the list in this web site.
