What always amazes me if what some people seem to bring with them even for short stays, TV's, large tables etc One nighters are all about traveling light and just enjoying your surroundings, not sitting in your tent and glamping! As has been said I packed the car up at lunchtime and then left it parked on-site and went for lunch at the Wine Press (very nice burger) and then a walk around the lake. At this point the Jacippit decided she was a seal and swam about 70ft straight out! Oh and she like a speed boat and then stops and as she is very muscular she lifted her front end out of the water just like a seal! Me and swmbo were calling her to turn her round but she was loving it!

Like I said I see one nighters just as a chance to get away and relex away from home and its a great chance to spend quality time with swmbo and talk. Can you really say you do that when you stay at home.....

just been for a one nighter ourselves (me and OH). first time camping in u.k. and we went to thorpe park. just brought the basics (tent, sleeping bags, a double airbed) although we pitched on the electric grass. our tent got dwarfed by the big 'uns around us. other campers and tourers very nice, even offered us to join their bbq. we'll do 2 nights at the end of the month, say, lake district?
