yes cattery costs are part of owning a cat but 20€ per day when they share seems steep to me. Ok the cages are bigger than you could take camping but still not like freedom to roam at home. As i said there are wild dogs and cats here and i worry if they can't get inside.

Aww Floppy what a lovely pic of your cat. I could just imagine our Jerry stretched out in the sun outside our tent, but he is getting on a bit now and i would be terrified of him going missing or another dog going for him. It is hard enough taking 3 dogs away and planning around them. It would be far too scary for me to even think about lol. Good luck if its what you decide to do though.

Well he stops in most of the time even when camping, 23.5 hours sleeping bit of food and some business the rest of the time.
After 6 years of camping, hes only ever gone missing at a meet at forest glade and the headline post was " floppy looking for pussy at 3am"
He was just 1 unit down and came in by himself when he felt like it.
Mind you he now askes to go out and sits next to the door and waits until his harness is put on, so he knows the drill.

I have seen cats on a camp site and a rabbit too.  We usually take the rats and the tortoise but now our rats have gone to ratty heaven and we will be taking tortoise and new puppy this year.

A few years back in the 80s, we use to take our Siamese cat camping with use under canvas; he would jump in the car when it saw use packing the camping gear (an old ridge tent, pots & pans, sleeping bags). Watch us pitch up, then we would tell him how long we were staying (a couple of days or a week) and he would disappear, to return just as we were breaking camp to travel home. We would not see hide or hair of him between our arrival and departure.

We used different sites in Scotland and the north of England at the time, admittedly basic field sites but he was always there when we left having fended for him self all week/weekend. The funny thing was he never hunted at home and would scream at us to be feed.
