We did the first May bank holiday, well almost, we gave up on Sunday. Will go home and pack heater into the car, feed the hermit crabs, and pack the cool box and collect hubby from the station.
Off we go. Alcohol and good company and a heater, we'll be okay.
It was the combo of a deflated airbed, freezing temps and rain that we pulled out early last time.
Happy Camping.
------------- the bigger the berry, sweeter the juice.
we're at casrlerigg hall in keswick. the weather has been lovely all day, and we're prepared for the cold tonight. i almost put the trip off as i have an almost fatal dose of man flu, but figured i may as well be ill here instead of at home :-)
I'm thinking of going to MIL caravan site for sunday night only as have to work sat eve and Tues.
Don't think OH is keen, but I know kids will love it.
The idea came into my head as we have to test out our new to us tent, but then there's another problem, it's a diablo 900 so not small and a packed campsite at BH plus we don't want to get there and find there's a problem with it - although we can all sleep in MIL awning.
Cheers Sharlene! Late reply lol.. Didn't quite make it for 5am... we left at 6:15.. got here for 12... got the return drive to do tomo evening... rain due on sunday so we're packin up early and heading home tomo night has been a great week tho.. and the weather has been flippin gorgeous
We have just got back from North devon, it took 7 hours to get there from warwickshire and 5 hours to get home but worth it as the site was fabulous even our 12 year old enjoyed it and she is too cool for school at the moment!
The weather was dodgy at beginning of week but was so nice at end that we stayed a couple of extra nights and spent them on the beach at hartland and over the border in Bude.campsite allowed campfires so we sat with a glass or three of wine and watched the sun set over the atlantic.
I will say the name of the site even though i would love to keep it my little secret, it is Stoke Barton camping site near Bideford....five stars in my opinion!!!
