Well bad luck struck and as I was about to get the trailer out of the garden I checked the wheels and we have a noisy bearing! I refused to risk taking it so started packing car, tent, footprint, inner & tent carpet in front passenger seat, cool box & floor mats middle seat, vac bag with onsies & fleece in one foot well, drawer unit, EHU, heater, hob, sleeping bags, Sims, bag of glamping bits, clothes & pillows fitted in boot and whilst the elsan is too big to fit in any space we have our trusty old nappy bucket with trainer seat that will squeeze into another foot well leaving my eldest with leg space!
OK I've had to dump the table & chairs and no doubt I will arrive and see I have forgotten other items but we are going in the car with room to spare I will time set up and let you know how I get on
Ah well fate made you downsize anyway. Glad you managed to get it in. Weekend away, here you come
Hey Stewey,/I know I took 5 tables last time but you took 4 and yours were bigger than mine lol.Its a shame that i've decided to reduce things cos i've just bought loads of camping gear
Managed to get set up in about an hour including the time I stopped to chat to a neighbouring caravaner who was going to offer to help but I'd got the tent up and was pegging guy lines out by the time he came over! The girls helped unload the SIMs & bedding into the tent and unbag it all too and as we were having fish & chips for dinner I decided not to bother getting the electric hob out of the car until needed.
Not the best weekend away for a number of reasons (traffic, other campers, daddy long legs) but we were warm and comfortable (unlike one of our noisy neighbours ) and even managed to have a walk on the beach Saturday.
That's not bad going, from start to finish. It's a learning curve , to see what works foryou, on short or long trips and modify as you
For short trips, it should be enough to set up without being shattered afterwards.
After all. You all want to enjoy yourself and relax.
