bardencampers

I agree with you it would have been much better if it had had a front door of some sort. But I bought one for my Hartford S befor I realised.  The only thing I can think of to use is a windbreak, it would help stop the wind from tunneling a bit maybe.  Any way going to give it a go in June.(with a bit of luck it wont be howling with wind !!)

We have just had our first weekend away with the new Hartford Canopy and its is EXCELLENT! It adds so much extra space and the fact that it is open at one end means that you are not shutting yourselves away from the other campers. It feels like you are still living the outdoor life even though you are under cover. It was very sturdy and provided good shelter from the wind and the little bit of rain we had.

We got ours online from Winfields for £60.00 with no p&p costs. Great price and excellent 48 hour delivery service.

I think this porch canopy is a brilliant addition to the already fabulous Hartford range and would advise all Hartford owners to buy one!

We have used ours twice now.  Last weekend it became the hub for evening drinks with friends and was much admired.

I do however has a few reservations - the design needs perfecting, it comes over as a 'first try'  IMO.  There aren't enough guys at the front to provide stability and so it can sway a bit.

Ours came already repaired although factory new.  It also has the front edging, which has the guy tabs attached, sewn on back to front which doesn't help.

However it does convince me a porch is a good idea.  Just need to decide whether to replace Xl and porch for a Nebraska ( at the end of the season) or just get the existing porch replaced.

This weekend was the first time we have used our canopy and like you hik01 OH was concerned about the stability. He added an extra set of guys which did help alot. It was very windy in Dartmouth. We also had problems with the elastic pinging off from around the porch. anyone else had this happen.

Our front edging also appears to be on back to front as the guy tabs face backwards.

But apart from that we liked the space, great for the cooker as well as a sitting area.

Hi Mini - looks like a manufacturing fault then - the front edging.. I compared ours to the edging on one of their other canopies and it was definitely wrong. it made adding  extra guys a bit Heath Robinson.. so we just left them off.. Not sure how it would fare in some serious windy weather either.  But, as you say - it's a great space.. we had 6 adults in in most evenings - with plenty to spare..
