The inner bag which contains the 'pooh powder' is sealed into an outer bag and then the whole thing can be thrown away with the ordinary rubbish. All the bags (even the bag they come in) and the pooh powder and contents are biodegradeable and you also get a little supply of toilet paper and a moist towelette with each bag. They're not cheap - but they are wonderful and having used them for about a year now I wouldn't use anything else again. You have to order them over the internet, but the company that supplies them is excellent.
Obviously you like campsites with facilities ? were not all the same ,some of the best campsites have no facilites except for a hole to empty your loo into and a tap!

Yes, I much prefer sites with facilities. Toilets and showers are the first thing I look for when checking out another place to go to. You pays your money and makes your choice. As you rightly say, we're not all the same, so as far as I can see one less thing to take to a site in my Seat Ibiza equals 'Happy Days'!
As for emptying the loo, its still a resounding NO WAY! Even if we do carry it around inside our bodies its visibility changes quite dramatically once its out! as far as I'm concerned Man was not made to peer at poo!
I've seen caravanners doing that in the morning. Nah, thats not for me!
BWL, biodegradable bin liners, nice smelling cat litter and Zoflora for added insurance. This was recommended on a previous thread and we tried it for the first time on our last trip in July. Works like a charm and can be disposed of in the rubbish bins with your other rubbish.

We bought the porta potti a few weeks ago from Lidl's (Thetford). Before that we had a bucket. But after using the porta potti I would not be without it now. It was pouring with rain the last time we camped and oh the luxury of just going into the separate bedroom pod (our special area) for a wee was wonderful! Not trugging through a muddy field. I must say I was worrying about having to empty it but quite easy once you read the instructions. I'm one of the people who say it is for 'number 1's only!. I know, I know, the chemical stuff probably dissolves the xxx but I don't like the thought of it in the tent.

Merry Terrier and lynm are also big fans - I've yet to come across someone who's tried them who doesn't like them.

We have a BWL for night time wees and tried the cat litter thing but it didn't work for us. Maybe we didn't use enough litter. Will try the Zoflora though!
We like sites with facilities but never found one yet with an en-suite bathroom! I don't fancy trecking across the field at two in morning either. We pack things in the bucket so it doesn't take any extra space, OH empties it but I wouldn't mind, I've changed enough nappies and emptied enough potties.

We use a bucket with lid, zoflora and a square of plastic......... just incase and keeps the ground sheet clean..... nothing worse than trekking to loos in middle of the night.......

Yes they are a little expensive I suppose - but for us it only works out at just over £2 a day and for the convenience and ease of use in my opinion that's worth every penny.
I use a BWL when tenting. Was dead impressed with myself the other weekend 'cos I didn't need it, loos weren't too far away from tent and no middle of the night/first thing in the morning emergencies. But they do happen so I would always have it with me JIC.
To those who scorn the idea I would say - just you wait, bladders ain't so predictable as they age!

The bags are expensive, my friend and I have split 100 between us which has brought the price down a bit.
I do sometimes consider using the bio-degradable bin bags and kitty little idea but then I pull the small and beautifully formed WAG bag out of a small space and wonder why I considering faffing around with anything else!
