I took my tent out of it's bag for the first time on the campsite .When the 2 weeks were up there was no way this tent would fit in it's bag. It took 4 hefty helpers to get it half in and that's the way it stayed till we got home. Then i took it out, took out the pods, and it fitted in the bag perfect then i got my old army kit bag(I knew i'd find a use for it one day) and the pods were a perfect fit. Only snag is everyone we camp with now knows my regiment, name rank and number, and they call me Sergeant and stand to attention
Thats a good idea, never thought of that. I'm not sure if my bag has my blood group on it somewhere. Just need to put my shoe size and inside leg on it then everbody would know my life story.
Hope you make sure that they bring themselves to 'shun properly
The only way I've found that really works with my Khyam Santiago is to fold it into a rough oblong shape slightly narrower than the bag is wide. Put the inners on top and roll TIGHTLY from one end. The tighter you roll it, the easier it is!
If you've done that properly the tent should now fit in the bag and though it will appear that the bag is too small, you should be able to get the zip up the end. After that it's just a matter of compressing the tent and inching the zip along, being extra careful that you don't trap any of the tent fabric in the zip, until the zip is fully closed.
Tighten the compression straps, pat yourself on the back, pop a beer/Pepsi Max/ beverage of choice, and sit down with your feet propped up on the tent bag until you recover...
I have a bit of a reputation for being able to get any tent back in its back, but horror of horrors my Monty 6 very nearly beat me! I say very nearly I wouldn't give up till it was in, it took three attempts at folding it and plenty of sitting and lying upon!

The best way to get the tent back in the bag is to laugh, this way other campers think you are just messing about when realy you are getting anoyed. Works every time for us
We have a Nebraska XXL and it's massive when you take it down as said you need to get as much air out as possible. Roll towards the open end and may need to fold more than once had no problems getting it back in it's bag. Problem is getting it all in the car
Well the tent has sat half out the bag all week and today finally had a go and manged to get it in and do the zip up - admittedly the poles were not in it, but I do like to keep them separate otherwise it is too heavy to lift.
I have never had a tent with a SIG before and never struggled to get a tent back in the bag and I think I must have been scared of compressing the air down one end and the seams popping. With any luck after its next outing it won't be quite the same struggle!
I hate getting the tent back into the bag but even though it's extremely hard we always manage it. All you have to do is sit on it to squeeze out all the air. Which is kind of fun. xxxXXXxxx p.s:please click the link below (very funny)
