I've been there to look at stuff - though wouldn't buy from them. I would LOVE to see someone film in the shop when a few families with perfectly ordinary children descend on them at once.
Someone phone Dom Jolly!
Next UKCS meet location anyone? You're only allowed to come along if you have "obnoxious" kids (actually by the sound of it, just any old kids will do) or have the front to ask for that item on the top shelf (the one that requires them to get the ladders out)and then ask for the other colours - one by one, then decide not to buy it. And/or you talk VERY loud are rude and capable of putting shirty staff in their place.
Don't get me wrong I'm no fan of ABC, but at a risk of being shot down in flames he runs a business and has a right to say no ( in the correct manner of course). This does not make him a bed guy!. I'm in business and everyone wants a discount or wants to pay cash, but my business rates and energy costs keep going up, If i discounted for everyone then i would have a business or emply people. Don't get me started or i'll be going off on one about the public sector!!!
Obviously a very sort sighted shop/sales guy, for £5 they lost a larger sale which tbh, most retailers I have experienced would be happy to waive the delivery charge considering the larger sale they have gained, especially during these economic times.
Anyway, i'm not mithered, after what i've read I'll never darken the doors of abc myself anyway lol
I have supported ABC in the past, but my most recent experience there was when buying a few things just before closing time, paid for my items and stacked them all on top of a folding table for ease of carrying, walked out of shop and dumped all in car boot.
On arriving home, I found that I had amongst my purchases a £50 odd pound dual fuel lantern, which I had neither wanted nor paid for, only thing I can think of is that it got mixed up with my stuff on the counter and ended up in the pile of stuff I carried to the car.
I phoned them the following day to explain what had happened, and to advise that I would return the lantern later that week.
When returning the lantern, the boy behind the desk was dealing with a customer, and just gestured to me to leave it on the counter, without even a thanks for bringing it back.
Last time I use the store also. Go Outdoors in Cardiff and the place in Bridgend will get my custom from now on.
