Our kit is growning fast, I blame you lot , as I can't be me seeing shiny things and buying them can it. My GF is amazed at the list of stuff that we are taking but she has never been camping with kids so thats my excuse and i'm sticking to it. We have electric hook up this year as we now have an electric coolbox, lights and heater. I may take the laptop just for a back up but I really try to get the boys away from the computer games as they play the xbox and wii non stop at home if I let them.
The trailer is full plus i have more to buy and then I have to get the bikes on as always. Oh and a towbar for the new car in the next 7 weeks or we really will be backpacking.

Littleskink if you're planning a trip to Cornwall then I would highly recommend Rosebud Farm - a CL site in St Teath close to Port Isaac. Amazing views across to Bodmin Moor, ability to select your own very large pitch, extremely quiet, great individual bathrooms with lots of hot water and extremely friendly owners. We were there during both the May Bank Holidays and there were no more than 12 units the first time and probably no more than 15 the second - across both fields!! The owners ensure that the quiet nature of the site is maintained. In the opposite direction I would also recommend Proctors Stead at Dunstan just outside Craster, Northumberland. A bit busier but great location and facilities and again extremely quiet - bar the wildlife :-)
Apologies, off topic I know but rude not to answer a question :-)
------------- 2012
March - Woodovis, Devon
April - Trewethett, Tintagel
April - Santander - no caravan
May - The Willows, Abersoch
June - Killegruer, Mull of Kintyre
August - Gwithian Farm, Cornwall
September - TBC
October - TBC
While I don't mind 'basic' camping, I'd rather have a few bits and pieces to make life more comfortable. I could do without EHU, but the other half wants it for his laptop and phone charger (yes, I dare say I'll end up using it too!), but for me it's a decent air bed and storage.
Our 'fridge' is a small, thick polystyrene delivery box with three packaging freezer packs inside (I get these from work as our lab supplies come from holland and have to be refridgerated). We were amazed that after three days the little packs were still cold! If anyone wants me to put one by for them let me know-all we do is throw them away!
I hate living out of bags and cardboard boxes and having stuff strewn everywhere, so my search for the perfect organisation system goes on!
I am definately a Glamper and proud of it!!! Nobody said camping involved being cold and miserable!!
I take tent, carpet, airbeds, thermal toppers and fitted sheets, sleeping bags, blankets, pillows, porta potti, wardrobe, sofa, EHU, heater, lights, mini fridge, kitchen stand, cooker, BBQ, table, chairs......... you get the general idea!! Fortunately I have a very large car!!
Currently looking at getting a utility tent or day room.

Funny how different people experience the same campsite in different ways. I stayed at Rosebud Farm once and one of my strongest memories of it is the racetrack country road immediately the other side of the hedge behind the majority of pitches. So I wouldn't have described it as 'extremely quiet'.

------------- Tackling life the Western District way
When I had a large car, I took everything possible to be comfy. Now I have a tiny little car and had to cut down to the basics, still managed to keep warm and comfy though. No EHU, no heater, no electric kettle, no electric light. It is different but still enjoyable.
I also have to own up as a glamper...although I do love it...My only excuse is that i grew up caravanning and only went into tenting as with our family of 5 it was the only way to holiday....so when I had the opportunity to buy matching tent, carpet, tupperware and table I was very happy!!!! And I love seeing it set out...also I do take makeup!!!!but use the mirrors in the washing area and always forget my hairbrush when going for a shower...and as I have long hair this generally lets the 'glamping look' down!!!!!
our kit is
2 campbeds
5 SI mats
5 sleeping bags
1 big Kitchen cuboard/stand
Cadac Safari Chef
Carpet
Big lidded box full of all the kitchen stuff which then doubles as coffee table in the tent
Carpet
picnic blankets
hanging heater light
2 comfy umbrella chairs
3 easy camp director chairs
2 inflatable sofas
Table
flooring mat for under canopy
EHU
2 wardrobe things which were great for keeping clothes not damp!!!
Cool box
Ohio xl tent
Quechua utility tent
all that fits in the boot of our sharan and the roofbox is for clothes....Hubby fits it all in with precision...do not know how he does it!!!
Your hubby sounds like a packing miracle worker family5 - could he pop over and give mine a few lessons please? The start and end of our camping trips are usually marred by tears and tantrums (and I am not talking about our toddler!)

LOL..... will let him know his skills are on offer!!!He is German and likes to have everything done logically with no help and as little noise as possible!!!!maybe that has something to do with it!! anyway I am not complaining...although he does get quite grumpy when it comes to folding the tent ,carpet etc... which obviously he needs my help with.....Apparently my folding actions are not quite up to his standard!!! There are almost tears at this point it has to be said!!!!!(also not from our toddler)
