Out of curiosity, someone earlier in this thread mentioned a potty.....can't remember the exact wording but basically was inferred this was as bad as washing out your cassette toilet at the sink....where did everyone clean their childs potty once it had been emptied? (I'm not meaning on a campsite I'm meaning what did you do at home?)
I used to tip into the loo, rinse out with a weak solution of disinfectant and water which I kept in a bottle, ready mixed, tip into the loo, wipe with loo paper to dry the potty and finally flush the loo. I don't see why the bath has to be involved at all.
I think the woman who emptied her child's potty in a grid and 'poked the lumps down with a stick' was bang out of order, not so much because of the germ issue, but because it's nicer for other campers not to have to look at another family's faeces. They don't come on holiday to watch dung disposal! Some things are best left unseen, simply because they can put others off their breakfast!
I got around the potty issue at home by not having one, got DS to start on toilet, saved two learning issues, one for potty and then one for toilet.
Although I do agree with Tentz, the bit where the lady pushed the bits down with a stick is particularly gross and not required when there are toilets nearby.

After emptying the loo, I always wipe around the seat etc. with the antibac wipes I take, and wipe my hands with the same. So seeing somebody not rushing to wash their hands after emptying the loo may not be as bad as it seems.
Emptying the loo down the main toilet isn't too bad as it is all sewage - but the rest is gross. Why do that when there are special places to empty the loo, most of which have hoses etc for rinsing the thing.
Only problem is people shove the hose right inside the (as yet unrinsed) cassette and the hose gets filthy contaminated with raw sewage. Most of these hoses are black with dirt. I won't touch them without disposable gloves.
So very true, & nor will I. Gloves & anti-bac gel at the ready.
Anti-bac gel also comes to the site loos with me, same reason as Camping Nutcase.
A bit of dirt is fine, but other people's germs from their cr*pper I really do draw the line at.
