I've got no quibble with the tent review. Just cos I've got a Monty which suits us just fine doesn't mean it suits others for what they need. No need to go into hiding Tommy *opens up biscuits and puts kettle on*
I wasn't saying the Monty 6 is a bad tent ( plenty people love them) it just seem's to me that for what you pay for a Monty 6 it could be much better , but then i am really hard to please......lol , what i did like about it was that when it's put up ( on my own no bother) it does feel very solid , it just didn't set the heather on fire for us
So does this mean i won't get assaulted when i go camping next time .........lol , don't want to treated like some sort of monster
Seems like an honest review - my only comment would be that most "six man" tents in the style of the Montana don't comfortably sleep six on a family holiday.
I feel the same about most tents tbh. Most 4 berths only sleep 2 comfortably, 5s will only take 3 without a squeeze and so on.

hi everyone. just a change in the thread. i have seen a vango apollo in showroom for sale. the one on show is £75..ex display. had a look at it. shop staff said there is nothing worng with the tent. in perfect con. .....ok. does anyone here have the apollo. there are no reviews so i cant decide if its worth buying. a good price i know. and a nice size. and there is one in the local paper for £40. but no statement about condition. also. what is it like in a good wind. can it take a bad gust of maybe up to 60 mph. if anyone says it is good in winds. then i just may go for it. or maybe even both. your opinions please.
I waso glad to see your post I thought I was the only one who disliked the outwell montana. I thought your review was spot on.
Cheers Madz , it was just our honest opinion of the tent , i suppose because we expected big things from it as the reviews all seemed so good we just felt let down with the various problems we found with it......here's hoping Outwell turn it into the good tent it has the potential to be.
you could look at the gelert horizon 8 we really like it and even though we bought a campervan it will still be coming on the major summer holiday for the kids to sleep in and as living space.
