I've been towing for years, usually with huge farm type trailers that you can see.
Last year I bought a small camping trailer that combined with the car having a high back window means I can't see it. It made a complete ass of me reversing. I've recently increased the hight of the trailer which means I can see it - normality has resumed. I sort of took for granted seeing it in my decision making.
I have had an erde 102 for a few years now when I get to a car park I try to find two empty spaces facing each other and park in them without reversing. Other times I have taken the trailer off then clipped it back on again after reversing. I have however twice now, scuffed both sides of my bumper because I forgot it was attached 🤦
It's the problem I have with my small trailer. When it's on the back of my X Trail I don't even know it's there, and I can only see it at all when it has completely jack-knifed!
