Compare a four sided sunnicamp dayroom to our gazebo....2 sides which flap around just one side with a window...sunnicamp dayroom you can actually fasten all the sides down and the poles are alot more sturdy in a sunnicamp than a gazebo....how many gazebos do you see flying about in windy condtions Loads and dayrooms well we have seen none....if the weather doesn't improve we will be buying another gazebo/dayroom next year cos the poles are already bent on our new gazebo....
In last couple of years or so garden gazebo's seem to have become all the rage on site. But now finally people are starting to comment about their lack of stability/ability to cope with anything more than a light breeze. Is it just me or what? Surely I can't be the only one to whom it seemd so obvious from when I first saw one on site that they wouldn't stand up to any rough conditions. They are like a parachute just waiting to catch the wind.
Gazebo's are designed for use in calm summer conditions in the garden, not for proper camping where you can (& do) encounter breezy conditions.
We bought an Outwell Dayroom from PJ camping and it was brilliant, after looking at the Suncamp dayroom as it has the added extra of storm flaps and a ground sheet and all the windows can be mesh or closed and all can be rolled up to form a sun shelter only on good days.
It was well worth the spend for our first outing this year.
Elleo - you say the Garen shelters are not waterproof, yet the spec says it is ??????
Khyam Day Shelter
Click here for more detail Khyam Day Shelter
Very similar to the long running Sunncamp Day Tent and also the Outwell Oklahoma (both shows on Broadway), proving that originality comes a long way second to the desire to get in on something good! Suitable for the campsite as an extra storage area, the home as a garden gazebo or the village fete as a stall - there is no end to the diversity of this design. All four side panels can be unzipped and either rolled up or propped out. Or, you can leave them zipped closed but have the window flaps rolled up to let in light even though the weather might not be great. The flysheet is a double coated, taped seamed Weatherweave 2oz polyester with a hydrostatic head of 3000mm. The fitted groundsheet is polyethylene.

Can you or anyone else help me further here ??
I got confused about this a while ago. the garden shelter and the day shelter by Khyam are two completely different things. So Elleo is right, the garden shelter is only showerproof as it is made of woven PE fabric, but their new day shelter is made of proper tent fabric, and those are the specs you have posted here. The other difference is that the day shelter does not have the rapidex erect poles.
(IF you want a Khyam day tent with proper fabric AND the rapiex poles you have to dig deep for the Khyam Screenhouse ,their THIRD form of day tent.)
Hope that helps!
Oh and I would go for the Khyam over the Sunncamp as it has a groundsheet.
