Just found out last night my old canvas tent which mum and dad used to take us away in (it's at least 30+ years old) is coming home.It was given away and is no longer wanted due to relationship split up so I'm having it back. So you just can,t give them away
Merry Terrier - do you think the tent on Ebay is ok to cook in? Due to its size, there is no giveaway kitchen window, so I was pondering what to do in wet weather? Not sure if I could attach a canopy, what do you think? Still tempted as a quick weekender tent!!!

I was going to say, although its irrelevant now, that the tent in question may well have had a cooking window/wall. It looked to me like a slightly larger version of the Etna, and the Etna has a cooking window/wall on the side wall of the tent , on the left hand side of the tent as you look at it from the front (or the right hand side if you were standing in oneof the inners). I do like the size as a weekend tent and also for when it's just me and the small ones camping on our own. I think I could put it up ok solo. Will keep an eye out for any others like it coming in Ebay. I'm planning a 3 week trip with them next summer so although it's a bit early to look out for a suitable tent, I'm hoping to find more of a bargain than at the start of the season. Thanks for your help!

I'm sure you could, it looks really really straightforward. The brilliant thing about putting up frame tents like this is that you don't need height, reach or strength to do it - you just need to be methodical. MT
