My parents always recall the year they went away (before me and my brother) and they forgot the airbeds. Luckily the grass had been cut so they gathered that up and put the bedding on that :)
I was at a Land Rover show though, and on one of the stands was a company selling Coleman Dual Fuel cookers.
So I bought one!!!!!
------------- Love a lot. Trust a few. But ALWAYS paddle your own canoe!!
Minds are like parachutes:- They only function when they are open!!!
Those who talk don't know.
Those who know don't talk.
This weekend I forgot to pack any t-shirts for DH, luckily we were going to a music festival so plenty of opportunity to indulge in the merchandise stalls.
------------- Current tents in use: 5m Bell, Obelink Palamos 6, Vango Tornado 300 Vango Force 10 Mk3, Hypercamp Eldorado & Orange Raclet
We had our first camping trip last weekend and we forgot the tin opener (got one in camping box now though) and black bags for the rubbish also now in camping box. fortunately the shop on site sold both.
Can't think of anything when camping/caravanning, but we did leave the dog (when we had him-sadly no longer with us) accidentially in the front garden, I thought my husband had put him in the boot and vice versa. Well we got down the road (not too far I add), and the kids asked where the dog was. A frantic U turn was made, and there was our lovely dog, just sitting on the front lawn in the sun - none the wiser. We never did it again!
after many camping trips without a windbreak, we now own one, but forgot it last weekend. it took us over an hour to boil the water and cook the pasta as it was so windy and the kitchen unit protector and the cooker's protector did nothing for the wind...
went away once and didnt realise until many miles on when we stopped to top up the fuel and have a coffee id left my wallet on the bed when i changed out of my work clothes !!! thankfully the garage let me top up and send the payment on had to chat up a mate for a loan for the weekend
Last weekend I forgot the electric kettle, but had packed the base?
had to phone hubby to bring it , and then remembered I had left sons birthday cake at home too.
later that evening I found I had no proper wine glass, and borrowed one off the people in the caravan next door.
next day , realised I had left the candles fr the cake at home and had to go out and buy these .
Just back from Lanefoot Farm nr. Keswick after a six day break
As we forgot to take some of the poles last year (poles in two bags not one) we checked before leaving home, as I thought the poles were in a seperate bag. (new tent only pitched once last year to check all OK) Arrived in the Lakes at about three thirty, only to discover that although the roof poles were in the bag, the legs were all in another bag that was 170 miles away at home. Had to buy a new tent for one night, then drive all the way back home to get the leg poles. So I now have a Vango Beta 350 for sale, as I already have too many tents to keep yet another one.
Next time, I think I will take my Bell Tent, ONE tent ONE pole
------------- Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.
