we have a thetford portaloo in our tent. have it in bedroom during day(try not to use it though. and at night it sits in the main tent so we all can use it(if need be) and not wake anyone. i use toilet wipes to wipe it down each day and aquakem green in the bottom and pink flush in the top. it doesnt smell and OH rinses with disinfectant when we get home. i also have hand spray sanitisers to use after we have used the loo. it is strictly a no poo loo. unless its a real emergency(which we have had the odd one)
Following this and other threads on number 1s, I've bought a Thetford Portapotti off eBay for our next trip. Will give it a test run over the weekend in the garage once I get the chemical additives!
A wonderfull addition to any tent and not the most awfull thing to empty, had ours for a few years now and the end of "Grandad !! I need to go....." is bliss.
