We've had an EHU cable for a year and a half ... and last weekend was the first weekend we used it!!
We plugged in a table lamp.
Cool box, thermals, wind up/solar lamps and plenty of spare blankets ... I can't actually think what you need electricity FOR on a camping trip!

Well, one can put the left pinkie in the left hole, the right pinkie in the right hole on the socket and dance the Hokey Pokey or the Lambeth Walk (I don't want to cause a stirr...) for the entertainment of all the Ray Mears' on campsite rubbing their sticks together to provide fire for dindin while drying their sweated jungle attire on the line they hung their hammock on under the foliage roof they made earlier.

Camping is camping and whether you decide to take the Xbox 360, 46" LCD tv, microwave, Sky+ and a fridge, or simply a wet sock to keep your milk cold, it does not matter. Each to their own.
Thanks for your comments and now time to put this to bed.
Cheers Ratty
