the switch works well, but for camping you cant beat a good old fan heater, they throw the heat out, with a halogen heater, exspecialy only an 800watt you need to be sat on top of it to feel the benefits
------------- happy camping

Hi
Just a quick note, halogen heaters will only heat organic material. Meaning people not the air around you. This means as jamie said you have to be right in front of them.
You can buy a heater that looks like the halogen ones but they are quarts heaters and they heat the air, so if your camping look out for this type.

We have always been warm enough with our Halogen Heater in a 6 berth with SIG. We have a fan heater as well but dont like the constant hum in the background.

We have always gone back to Halogen. In the Outwell tunnels we have had we have tried the fan heaters and halogens and halogens have always come out miles on top for us.------------- Steve
