Having spent many an hour picking all the best hints & tips from these pages we are back from our first proper camping trip and just wanted to say Thank You to everyone who takes time to post advice and suggestions on this site - we couldn't have done it without you!
Being sensible we've started with a small easy to pitch tent for 2 adults, 2 kids & a large smelly Choc Lab - oh no, hang on we are never sensible what we actually bought was a DIABLO 900XP. Its lovely - huge, but lovely. Took 2 hours to pitch but will definitely be less next time. Had no EHU (although every other possible gadet, thanks to hubby - boys do love toys!). Car was doing a wheely when we'd finished packing and I had a moment of panic thinking of how much we've spent and what we'd do with everything if we hated it. But, other than being very very cold during the night - even with picnic blanket on top of airbed, fleece liners in sleeping bags and two layers of clothing!!! It was great! The kids got loads of fresh air and we had real 'family time'.
We are already planning a trip during May Half Term and a least a couple more during the summer hols. So Thank You again, and keep on posting!
