We own a second hand Outwell Hartford XL but it has a dodgy zip on the entrance to the inner tent. The inner to our tent is green in colour but we have seen an inner tent for sale that is completely white and doesn't have the rear doorway that ours has - it is obviously a later model than ours. My question is - does anyone know if the later inner tent could be used with our earlier model outer tent? Sorry, don't know the years of manufacture.
Thanks,
Maxine.

Hmmmm I think it would be a bit of a gamble as tent dimensions change from year to year. Is it not possible to find a tent repair service to replace the zip? THat should surely be cheaper than a whole new inner?

Many thanks for all your replies, if the later tent inner is a bit smaller it could possibly do?????Am I right? It looks exactly the same layout and is the same price that we have been quoted for a new zip i.e £35 , so it seems worth taking the chance .....unless anyone knows any different!!

The problem will be that your poles will be too long for a smaller inner, and even if you trimmed your poles down to fit that, then your outer would be too big - the innerand outer are designed to go on a single set of poles remember, which is why the match has to be perfect.
I also wonder ( given the back door/no back door issue) whether the inner you have seem for sale may be a Hartford L which I don't think had a back door.
