We have our Hartford XL, which we have already used once this year, but it is soooo big and it seems to take us ages to put up. We love it for longer trips, but it is too much hassle for one or two nights.
So we are planning to just take the basics and go for the weekend.
That is if UK Campsite do as promised and deliver by Friday!

Weve just bought the star camper 3 and looks okay to put up although weve yet to fully erect. First outing scheduled for a couple of weeks ago. There are only two of us so will be plenty big enough for week or two week long trips hopefully.
Just out of interest how would you define a weekend tent?
When we origianlly camped years ago we had a similar tent (probably smaller in fact) and it was fine for 1 or two weeks providing we didnt expect to stay in the tent all day long day after day. I think the longest time were confined to the tent for a prolonged period was 4 days when it was constant storms and atrocious weather.
We based buying the starcamper 3 on our early experiences with ease of getting set up important because we probably wont get any younger! lol
I would love to see the Starcamper 3 and 4 on display. Our local camping shop (Jacksons of Old Arley) has two of the the VRX models on show, but none of the Starcamper range
Well the Starcamper 4 has arrived and it looks great! We are going to try it in the garden this evening!
I have to say that it took UKCampsite a grand total of 22hours from order to delivery and they even sent me the Amtrak number so I could track its progress on line! What service!

we've got a starcamper 3 bought it weekend put it up in the garden easy weekend tent
Really pleased to hear that! I have just ordered a Starcamper 3 from here - I have never seen one up but am confident the quality will be fine as we have an OR Outhouse which is excellent VFM.
Long story but I have to go away this weekend, rain is forecast so I will probably be packing up a wet tent and then it will be 24+ hours before I can unpack the tent - I was a bit worried about treating one of our canvas tents like that so have ordered an emergency Starcamper! Will let you know how I get on. MT
------------- Tackling life the Western District way
Easy to pitch, managed on my own in the garden last week, and with the OH helping on the weekend it was a doddle.
SIG
The option of two doors/canopy
The window/vent at the back is great for airing the tent in the morning.
Loads of space/headroom
A large gap between the outer and the bedroom reduces the risk of the two touching and leaking
SIG on both the main tent & bedrrom is a regular rectangle shape so it was super easy to fold away. Lovely big bag makes it easy to pack.
Things we didn't like:
Found the SIG had torn away slightly (1-2") on the sleeping compartment. Not sure how it happened or if it was a manufacturing fault. Took it back this morning, was offered a replacement (when available) or a free repair with offer of replacement at a later date if it failed again. Went for the repair.
Some of the guy lines are tripled and a bit fiddly to adjust
In general it appears to be a good quality tent which I would definitley recommend.
I am glad you posted about the SC4 cos although I love my big tent for longer stays, this one appears to be a good example of a short stay tent for us,thereby enhancing our tenting experience.I hope that it would be big enough for three of us and I think it is flysheet first if I remember, very important point after the storms of last week!!! Can't order it yet cos OH would go nuts but I am biding my time and it will happen. My feelings are intense!!!Ha Ha.
We have a Starcamper 3 and the only real criticisms I could make are that the ventilation isn't really sufficient, and because of the light colour, it gets very hot and stuffy very quickly as soon as the sun came out. The SC4 might be a bit better for this as there is more room for the air to circulate.
But it is very well put together, good quality, easy to put up, compact when packed, and superb for the price, so ideal for a short-stay tent. After all, if the sun's out, you shouldn't be in the tent anyway!
