hi looking for advice, bought a camping gaz two ringed cooker from the range, but being relatively new to camping we didn't think about a windshield thingy.

Just wondering if you can buy them to attach to the cookers, or any other tips at to what you use.

thanks

I got a concertina style cooker stand that came with a wind shield. It cost £15 from Lidl but I have seen them elsewhere for about £20. like this.

That stand is very good but is a pain in the backside my OH and me have issues with trapped fingers when putting up or taking down. We've had it 3 years and we use it every time but my only advice is watch your fingers!!!

hi welshoney,

welcome to the site you can buy windshield's in Argos they fold up to pack away there better quality than the one in the towsure book they seem to be a better make .they have long metal pins on them to go into holes on the cooker and also do the job.       but  why not buy a utility tent and you would not need to buy these types of things that's what we bought and off of this site does a great job and no cooking in the tent And all for less than £40 pounds and that's with delivery . go on treat yourselves the bag it comes in is not as big as a hand bag .we don't need to take fishing umbrellas or the wind breaks for the cooker we just use the utility. hope this will be of help .don't forget when camping all ways peg down even when the sun shines as the weather can change .from fran and steve in cardiff

thanks for that  fran and steve, just wondering what does a utility tent look like?

maybe a stupid question as a newbie,  but would you  be charged for having 2 tents on one pitch, if you take a gazebo ?

we have had our cooker for a good few years now and it never came with a windshield, we also have a kitchen stand. what i have done is bought the folding windshield from argos, cost about 7 or 8 quid. drilled a few holes in the bottom and then also in the cooker( watch where you drill) in the back. i keep the 4 screws permanatly in cooker and just attach windshield when pitched.
