We went away last night in our new tent, it was great fun, really enjoyed it. Me and the OH felt it a wee bit cold in the night (we were in Oban) but the LO (13 months) was toasty in a long sleeved vest, 2 sleepsuits, sleeping bag and 3 blankets! And he didn't wake up with the birds either which had been a fear!

Roll on next weekend when we are on holiday from work and hoping to go somewhere for longer! And thanks for all the tips and advice I got from here.

I find those fleecy car blankets/throws great. I will put one inside my sleeping bag, and its lovely and toasty - and as its loose, I can remove it if I get too warm. They also double up as a grandad blanket for sitting around in if the weather is a bit chilly.

Isn't it great we popped our cherry last year and loved it. We now have 6 trips planned for this year, the first one on the 26th of May to somerset, can't wait.

Next year we hope to go abroad.

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself as well, welcome to camping.

I take a fleecy mattress protector and a quilt as well as the sleeping bags, I hate it if I get cold during the night.
