Halogen is OK but I'd prefer a fan heater that doesn't squeak !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello,
we went camping for the first time at Easter, and were given a halogen heater. After three cold evenings we bought a fan heater which doesn't queak but is quite noisy :)
With the halogen the person sitting directly in fron of it at about 3 foot got a little warm but anyone else did not feel the heat. Apparently they heat the person rather than the air. We will take it again if we have room because it makes a nice glow but won't rely on it to keep us warm!!!

We take a fan heater that swivels it's great for heating up the whole tent.Plus it's got a thermostat on it so you can have it on all night on a really low setting. Great for keeping the chill off with three children.

The larger vertical fan heaters tend to be quieter, and are my heater of choice.
Halogen heaters are useless unless you're in front of them (and wearing sunglasses)
Another option is the small oil-filled radiators, which I have no experience of, but get good reports on here.
