Hi There - Another new one to the Camping fraternity :

Just got our Wynnster Cygnus 8 and put it up in the garden (tips from twotanks noted) - Fabulous tent - we are well pleased and need to kit ourselves out with some more bits and bobs before heading for a site - ANYWAY ---

When we went inside the ground sheet in a couple of areas is raised off the ground - (apparently about 3 to 4 inches on one bedroom entrance) It is where the entrance to the bedroom pods are - it worries me as the 'material frame of the zip door' is stitched to the groundsheet at this point and i dont want it to rip.

Is it just that we need to spend more time 'fiddling' befor pegging the inner tent out or could we have gone wrong somewhere.

It is a SIG tent pitched inner first - Thanks

Hi Thanks I think it is probably something to do with the poles - but i suppose I am not sure just how much man-handling they can take or how much 'bend ' you can have  (being a total novice) and not wanting to damage our new tent.

It was a bit of a struggle with some getting them into the holes in the strap attached to the inner tent thingy - just scared of a loud cracking noise and ending up with a broken pole??

Will keep fiddling..................

Hiya,

I had this with my Coleman Magellan, but can normally avoid it by pegging down the four corners of the main area first.  As for bendability, the only ones to worry about are those with bends in them already, as I found out but lucky enough I had a spare set.

I think tents are like an old car which has to be started just so, you get to know its habits.

Enjoy!

If you peg out the ground sheet before putting the poles up dont pull it too tight.
