Most absorbtion fridges use approx 13 grams per hours, but they should state it somewhere, if a gas bottle contains 2Kg of gas (2000 grams) then the formula should be
2000 / 13 = 153.86 hours (6.4 Days) for 2Kg of gas
Hi Taurus- To save trying to work out how much, IMO the consumption is so small it can be ignored. I once read an article on fridge gas consumption and a 7kg bottle would power it for months continuesly. Now if you are using gas on say water heaters or ovens, thats a different thing. kiev

Yes I got it wrong again damned old brain cells what is left of them. a lot of manufacturers quote 13 grams but that figure is not an average,so I have read it is with the gas turned on full one it as reached the required temperature of around 5Deg.C you can turn the gas down to low and double that figure.yes I think yours is a more accurate way.

Ok I have looked a bit deeper into it It seems that the manufactures Quote 13grams an hour when running on high.
They are take roughly the same time to reach there minimum
temperature below the ambient temperature.The best absorption fridges are capable of cooling to 30Deg C below
ambient.average ones 25 deg C below and some will only manage 20Deg below.So if you are thinking of buying one make sure you get the 30Deg below ambient.As for ow long will they run.Well the best ones that are well insulated and there for will keep the temp cooler will allow you to turn the gas down once the temp as got to 5Deg C or lower
and a 7Kg cylinder will last aprox 1050 hrs 43.3/4 Days
But even the not so good cooler should last around 38 days.
So if you use a 4.5 cylinder it should last you for a 14 nights stay for cooking and cooling.

You are very right kiev. Have had 2 long weekend camps with 3 way fridge on, and a hardly any gas used amazing. Our biggest trouble was getting the temp low enough. It froze our milk one day!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
