Having been torn between Starcamper 4 and Oregon 400 (and decided that both are too high - couldn't reach top pole to hang the inner compartment!), I have gone back to Starcamper 3.

Can anyone tell me - does it have any venting into the bedrooms?  Is there a mesh door to the bedrooms?  Does the living space seem large enough to cook in (yes I know the 'rules'!) in an emergency - or for two people to sit in?  Does the groundsheet go straight through (ie double under bedroom area) so one could move back the sleeping area to create a bigger living space if needed?  Advantages?  Disadvantages please.     Jenny

There is a vent in the fly at the back of the tent with a 'matching' mesh vent on the bedroom inner

Yes, its a double door so you can choose solid or mesh or both

I was happy enough to make cups of tea on a suitcase stove in mine when it was raining too hard to do anything else!

Yes, if you had neat, low height chairs

Yes. Its a SIG with a detacheable inner which toggles in and out

I have also almost made up my mind about a Starcamper 3, the last i heard though they are out of stock, I have left a post and sent an message to find out when stock is expected and delivery times, but as yet no reply (I'm quite miffed really cos my holidays are fast approaching and i'm tentless). Maybe you will have better luck asking and can let me know...Just looking at pictures the door seems to ties back to the side so i think your idea is not on

Hi 'Camping Girl' and Alan.    Yes please I'd like some more info about the 4.  However on the Starcamper 3 it is the front flap that I feel should zip up to make an awning.  The side door seems to zip round in a circle but it looks as if the front door is straight.

I'm 5'2 1/2 (very NB the half!) so am even shorted than you!  When I measured up with a tape measure the 4 looked to be  very high, so I'm interested to hear you can reach the top easily. I didn't know the 3 was out of stock.  Hardly anyone seems to keep them, only ukcampsite as far as I can tell. I have now discovered the Vango Oregon 400 (of which there seems to be two sorts - I like the one with the slopey front) which also looks a good tent for one or two people.  It has side and front doors apparently, although in the picture it doesn't look as if there is a door on the front, and it looks a bit more roomy than the Starcamper 3.  Again I'm wondering about air flow and windows with mesh.  Tents can get very airless in hot weather. Oh it's such a minefield!  Jenny
