Hi, we're going on our first solo camp trip tomorrow for the weekend - hopefully not too wet!

We have bought an Outdoor Outhouse to cook in, but wondered how far away from one of our tent doors should be put this up? does it matter?

Thanks to you and everyone who has answered all our previous questions.

I dont know what one of those is.  We cook in our tent with a three burner gas stove ona concertina kitchen.  I have to say that i dont cook gourmet meals, just warm things up so maybe that doesnt really count!

Hi,

We gauge it based on the number of little feet that will be racing around the tent and guy lines!

I'd say we usually use the cooking area to form part of the border of our 'camp' so at a guess I'd say about 10 to 15 feet away from the tent door. However, we tend to stay on sites that don't have marked pitches so we can pitch where and how we like.

Enjoy!

When we camped at half term in awful weather, we put up our utility tent in front of the main tents front canopy. During the day we raised the door on the utility onto poles and it would meet the canopy, giving us a dry walkway from tent to cooking area. It worked really well. So I suppose it was about 10 feet away from main tent. Lots of guy ropes around though but the children got used to them.

                      ...canopy...

            .............main tent.............

(Thanks Haggy, great diagram, hope you dont mind that I nicked it!!)
I'm sure you'll get a feel of where its got to go when you arrive on site. Have a fab time.
