emailed vango today to see if they were planning to produce a carpet for any of their family tents, in particular the aspen - had a reply to advise me that they had no plans to introduce carpets for the current range of tents but production team are looking into carpets for future ranges - damn & blast looks like I am gonna have to mock one up now with picnic blankets! better get the sewing machine out! - gutted thought a nice fitted carpet might be my next purchase...
When i had a tent with a SIG it got dirty in about two mins and i am never going to buy a tent with a SIG, so can i ask how you stop the carpet from getting dirty?
firstly my sig has never actually got that dirty as we tend to keep dirty wet muddy footwear in the porch and don't bring them into the main tent so that isn't really the main consideration for wanting a carpet - I want a carpet as at the moment I use a couple of old picnic blankets under some of the furniture in the tent to protect the floor - unfortunately the blankets have a habit of rolling up on the corners and getting tripped on so therefore a purpose made carpet would be the solution - as for keeping a carpet clean, I own a washing machine!
We have a vango diablo and have bought the outwell hartford xl carpet for it, whilst it wasn't completely wall to wall, I felt it was better than picnic rugs, did the job for us.

Good idea! - hadn't thought of that - all i need now is to find out which model outwell has a footprint similar to that of my aspen 700dlx (living area only), my local camping store stocks them so will pop in and have a look...only trouble is outwell one's are green aren't they? - really fancied something in blues to co-ordinate with the tent!! - joke , think I'm being a bit of a tent snob again!! Shall definately give your idea consideration - many thanks for the tip!
Hi Bundy, Ive had the 700 for 3yrs now, and when i first got it i was,nt worried about sig getting dirty as you can always mop it out, but what bothered me was, it getting damaged with furniture and shoes, so i went to a carpet shop, and asked for a lump of thier cheapest thinnest, lightwieght, carpet, approx 10f x 10f, they sorted me with a peice for £20, I took it home, cut it to shape, and its perfect, just hoovered it ready for august, I roll it up, fold in half, wrap in thick poly, anp strap to roofbars, no probs. Only one gripe tho ( ITS PINK) Still beggars cant be choosers.
Hi , im new to all this camping lark, but having just purchased my diablo 900dx, i was gutted vango didnt make carpets for them, speaking to a sales BOY at Norwich camping and caravan shop, we came up with the idea that the living shape in vango`s are nearly the same as outwell tents , and as someone has said before, the Harford xl fits the diablo 900dx with a small gap around the edge, for £50 its worth it,

We've just bought breatheable groundsheet from our local camping shop which comes in various size packs or on a roll and it can be cut to the exact shape of your living space. Friends of ours had this in there Vango Aspen 700 dlx , it feels lovely and warm underfoot and because it is like wide gauge mesh crumbs, grass and other things disappear from view only to be rediscovered on pack up day(so no need for constant sweeping)It also protects the SIG.
well I decided I needed something bigger than the 2 picnic rugs that I have been using and I considered trying an outwell carpet as someone suggested earlier on, but I really wanted blue and the outwell carpets are green so I got 4 tesco navy blue picnic rugs for just under 24quid, which is about half the price of an outwell carpet, I got the sewing machine out and sewed them all together - hard work but I now have a huge rug/carpet which fits from side to side and will also fit in our sunncamp vario aswell!! however I would still be very tempted to buy a vango carpet if they ever decide to produce them! - many thanks to everyone for the suggestions.
Ive got to agree with Jo about the breathable groundsheet. Ive got one in my Aspen 700DLX and cut it to size and must say it is lovely and warm on the old bare feet and it easy to clean as grass doesnt stick to it like it does on carpet. And they do all different colours for those of you that like things to match.
