I have just brought my first tent and obviously now need equipment to go with it. I was thinking of going to the Towsure shop in Southampton. I know their website has a good reputation does can anyone recommend the shop.
I live in Bournemouth so does anyone know of any good places to get equipment near by.
Great site this i have already picked up a few good tips look forward to your replies.
I have been to towsure Southampton several times. I found the staff there to be helpful and for the most part knowledgeable. In fact I have just bought my new rig there. :)
1 - Campers and Leisure at Oakdene on the A31 by St Leonards hospital, a small shop but with a good selection.
2 - Forest Camping Centre at the garden centre just past Moors Valley Country Park at Three Legged Cross. You have to go through the garden centre and the camping shop is out the back.
I have no problem recommending Towsure Southampton....but I recently went to a local tent exhibition the other week - and the stalls there had much better prices.
That said - towsure pretty much will be able to help you kit out all your equipment. Their staff were extremely helpful when I needed some help
The staff have always tried hard when I've gone there, but rarely have I come away with the right kit. Wrong annexe, then right annexe but crushed poles, right porch, wrong price.
Sorry, never again.
If you want these sorts of things, I'd deal direct with the manufacturers, the price is normally the same (or eBay of course)
We use Forest Camping all of the time. We went to Towsure just to have a look around and found the staff quite rude and not very helpful.
Forest Camping on the other hand have been brilliant. We've had trouble with our Wynnster that we bought from them in June. They have bent over backwards to help us.
Really recommend them.

We get everything we need from Towsure in Brum' and we have never had any probs, well apart from them having boots on display that they didn't have in stock!!
What we tend to do is go looking at kit in camping shops in order to decide what we want, but then use the internet to see if we can find it cheaper. We have found World of Camping to be a reliable online retailer and with good prices.
