We purchased an Outwell Indiana 8 and are about to go on our first camping trip in it. We are fairly new to camping and so could someone just give us hints and tips for how to properly pitch the guy ropes. Shoudl they be tight? Allow some movement? Do you adjust them according to the weather conditions?
I would put them in line and at an angle that fits with the way the flap of flysheet goes comfortably generally , or so that the one on opposite sideof tent is countering the force equally . and i also keep them fairly taught personally .
They slacken after a day or two and need re tensioning ,ocasionally . always put all the guyropes up as well , because if you are a bit lazy and dont bother , go out then the weather changes you wont have much of the tent left on returning if its been windy
Follow the line of the seams 45 degrees Put pegs at 45 degrees so in effect between guy and peg you have a right angle. Taut not straining and check once a day. Make sure all openings are closed before you peg you should be fine.

Failing that most Camping shops can make a pole or section for you. Apologies for the double spacing still don't know how to stop it.

Click this link for the outwell webpage. From there choose tent option from menu at top. Then choose your tent and then click video option from video picture. It should show you how it is pitched..
To stop double spacing - press SHIFT and ENTER instead of just ENTER.
The double line entries are annoying, I thought it was just me that got it!!LOL Hehe.
------------- Some people are like Slinkies . . . not really good for anything,
