Hi,
We are looking to go camping later in the month but want to take camp site book with us in case we decide to up sticks early. Can anyone reccommend a book? I've looked and can see the AA do one as do the Cool series we are looking at the UK.

We have always used the AA book and is has served us well. The only thing i would say is don't rely on the prices given in the book as they are often out of date. We find a quick call is always best just to check.
Also you don't reallyhave to update it every year as most of the content stays the same. We have just bought the 2007 version but before that we were still using the 2000 version!!

Hi jeff,
when we camp we use the Cades book, it has money off vouchers in the back as well.

I've got 2 Cool Camping books, but they only cover about 40 sites each. I would stick with the AA or Cades book if you want to use it for alernaties on the move.

If you know which area you are going to, then the local tourist information accommodation guide usually has a more comprehensive list of sites than any of the commercial site books, often listing all sites licenced by the local council.

We use the AA book - and it has found us many as good campsite. We also bought a AA map book recently, and on the maps they show where there are sites situated. So, we have resorted to findind an area on the map, seeing where ther is a site nearby, then looking it up on here and in the AA book to see if the site is any good.
------------- why haven't they invented silent opening zips??!!

If you have WAP on your mobile phone then just use this site. Far more comprehensive than any book and you can also read all the reviews. Put this address in your WAP phone:
