hi Everyone , going camping on tuesday, managed to get time off work, and was wondering how many of you prefer to camp mid week and are sites quite full? We have always camped long weekends, bank hols etc cant remember going during week before. This was booked ages ago after weather cancelled the last one!

school holidays, midweek seems to be just as busy i think. I like going midweek when all the little darlings have gone back to school

We went Monday to Thursday, was just nice...not too busy.

We went Thursday to Wednesday in that very wet week at end of June. Weekend was horrible it was so busy, atmosphere totally changed. So we are off at end of month for Tuesday to Friday and fingers crossed its quiet lol

thanks for replys everyone, just glad to be going away  again after the rainy season, think we booked this date  spur of the moment  i like it not too mad but wouldnt want to be only tent there! No one to nose at!

You'll probably find the the situation of the site will dictate how busy it is mid week in the school holidays.  If you stay in a holiday resort then it will probably be full but on a 'local' country site there will be many vacant pitches.  I stayed away from the coast at a site in Sussex this weekend which was full on Saturday night but on Sunday morning 70 percent of the tents were packing up to leave.  Although I enjoy sites that are fairly quiet, like you, I like to have some company to give the place a bit of atmosphere.  Might as well camp in the back garden otherwise!

i took my lad camping thursday to saturday a few weeks back, we had the site to ourselves until saturday, bliss!

I will second that!

We only camp at weekends either out of season or on Adult Only sites. I love kids, but after 22 years of them I need a break
