Hi every one, great tips the other week about putting a tarp under the tent, Thanks !was a good idea and saved alot of cleaning of the underneath, now my problem is was recently at Chertsey campsite where I was pitched under a tree full of parakeets... which obviously enjoy the odd blackberry or two .
My Tent now has a rather unusal design of purple splats (the car was worse) on the last night we had a good down pour which removed alot of the mess but does anyone know how to clean a tent. I think its nylon , a Haven 600.
Could end up with a tarp under neath and one on top at this rate...lol..
Water ,just shove it up and eitherwait for heavy rain or get a hose pipe on it ( not high powered though or it will force the fibers of the material apart )
You will know if you did any damage next time it rains as where you rubbed the mark off with get a damp looking patch instead of the rain just bobbling off .
Plenty of water as soon as possible, before it damages the fabric. I once left some on my car and it took the paint off.
Oh Crumbs. We had bird poop on our tent last weekend. Not sure if Hubby got if off before packing up. Will it have damaged the tent by now? I'm gonna have to get the tent out tomorrow and have a look now. Oh Errrr.
I've got 2 bird lime stories:- Last year i woke up about 3am to see something inside the tent (on top of the bedpod), made me jump - that made the BIG bird jump which then let the contents of his/her bowel go, all down the outside of my inner tent, quite psychedelic really. thought it was a dream until the aroma hit home. And talking of damage, i got some on my motorcycle seat which burnt a hole in it, cost me quite alot to have it re-covered... motto :- Do not park under a tree
